The Multi-Orbital Pre-Planetary Sub-Gravitational Inter-Spheroid Spaceflight Training Mission[1] was a training mission by NASA to find out what sort of person would be best suited for a trip to Mars.[2] There were to be three participants on the spaceflight:

  • Forrest Gump, included for his amazing mathematical ability
  • Major Fritch, America's first woman astronaut
  • Sue, a female chimpanzee who has flown twice before - the most experienced with space of any crew member

Immediately before launch, some confusion caused Sue to be replaced with a more aggressive male chimpanzee. Initially unnamed, he is quickly named "Sue" as well, to cover up the mixup. The more aggressive Sue eventually causes the spacecraft to crash into New Guinea, whereupon the three crew members are detained by cannibals.
