The Foursquare Gospel Church is a church in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, which Bubba's family attended. Forrest Gump was also known to attend, sometimes Lieutenant Dan as well. When Forrest attains a large amount of money from his shrimping business, he donates a large portion of it to the church (as well as to Bubba's family and the Bayou La Batre Fishing Hospital), enabling the church to undergo renovations.
