Mrs. Gump is Forrest Gump's mother in the movie Forrest Gump. She is played by Sally Field in the movie.

When Forrest was a baby, Mrs. Gump named him after Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was the starter of the KKK. She'd always defend him, including yelling at the old men when Forrest's leg brace got stuck in the grate, and when the principal said Forrest was different. However, to get her son into the public school system, she has sex with the principal.
She is seen next when Forrest is discharged from the army, and tells him about the $25000 ping-pong paddle check. She advises him to get the money.
Her final appearance is when she is dying of cancer.
