Dallas was a Phoenix native who was a U.S. soldier who fought in the Vietnam War under Lieutenant Dan Taylor, During an ambush, many platoon mates are killed, but Forrest Gump carries a wounded Dallas and other soldiers out of the jungle. In the war hospital when Forrest watches a tv show on tv Dallas walks by and says “Gump, How can you watch that stupid s***t?! Turn it off!” To which Forrest does.
